Your Past Doesn’t Have to
Own Your Future.
Trauma lives in the body, not just the memory. Whether you are navigating a single crisis or a lifetime of hyper-vigilance, we provide a clinical, compassionate path to reclaim your peace.
Trauma isn't just what happened.
It’s what stays inside.
Trauma changes the way your brain and nervous system process the world. If you recognize these patterns, know that they are normal responses to abnormal events.
Hyper-Vigilance
Constantly scanning for danger, feeling "on edge," or being easily startled even in safe environments.
Intrusive Memories
Flashbacks, nightmares, or sudden distressing thoughts that make you feel like the event is happening again.
Emotional Numbness
Feeling disconnected from others, losing interest in activities you once loved, or feeling "hollow" inside.
Relational Strain
Difficulty trusting others, fear of intimacy, or a constant feeling that you are misunderstood by loved ones.
You don't have to carry this weight alone. Recognition is the first step toward release.
Speak with Nancy today →Healing the Nervous System
Trauma isn't just a "thought"—it's a physiological state. Our sessions focus on moving your body from Survival Mode (Fight/Flight) back into Growth Mode (Rest/Connect).
A safe harbor for
complex healing.
Standard therapy often touches the surface, but trauma requires a deeper, more specialized lens. Nancy Nzioki utilizes a trauma-informed framework that prioritizes your safety above all else.
We don't just ask "what is wrong with you?" We explore "what happened to you?" and, more importantly, "how can we help you feel safe again?" This is a collaborative process where you set the pace, and we provide the expertise.
Understanding the Journey
It is natural to have questions before starting trauma work. Here are answers to the most frequent concerns.
Do I have to talk about everything that happened?
No. In trauma-informed care, we do not "force" a retelling. We focus on how the trauma is affecting your life today. You share only what you are comfortable with, and we move at a pace that ensures you always feel safe and in control.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Every journey is unique. Some clients experience significant relief in 8–12 sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. Our goal is not just a "quick fix," but a sustainable restoration of your nervous system.
What is the difference between this and regular talk therapy?
Regular therapy focuses on thoughts and behaviors. Trauma therapy focuses on the nervous system. We use specialized techniques to help your brain realize the danger is over, so your body can finally stop reacting to the past.
Will I feel worse before I feel better?
Processing difficult emotions can be tiring, but a primary part of our work is Stabilization. Before we dive into deep work, we give you "grounding tools" to ensure you can manage your emotions outside of the session.
