The Therapy Agreement
Welcome to TherapyRise. This document outlines my professional services and business policies. Whether we are working together individually or as a couple, these terms ensure a safe, structured, and effective therapeutic journey.
Welcome to My Practice
I am aware of how significant deciding to work with a therapist can be. I am a licensed mental health professional registered in Kenya, committed to clinical excellence. I aim to create a "Sanctuary" environment (physical or digital) where healing and growth are the primary focus.
Individual & Couples Therapy
This agreement applies to all individual and couples sessions. In couples work, the relationship is the client. I maintain a 'No Secrets' policy, meaning information shared individually may be brought into the joint session if it is vital to the relationship’s healing.
Sessions & Punctuality
Our first 2–4 sessions involve an evaluation of your needs. Sessions are 50 minutes. Late arrivals are not accommodated by extending the time, as I must respect the start times of subsequent clients.
Professional Fees
Payment is required via M-Pesa (Till: 5859591) or agreed digital methods. I do not bill insurance directly; you are responsible for settling your account and claiming reimbursement independently using the receipts I provide.
Cancellations
Your hour is dedicated exclusively to you. I invoice in full for missed appointments. I provide for **two no-charge cancellations** in any six-month period, provided notice is given 24 hours in advance.
Confidentiality
Your privacy is paramount. Exceptions occur only if required by a Judge, or if there is an imminent risk of harm to yourself, a child, or others, as per the laws of the Republic of Kenya.
Contacting Me
I am not immediately available by phone while in session with clients. For emergencies, please contact your nearest hospital emergency room or a crisis hotline. I return calls within the same business day.
Your signature (or proceeding with a booked session) indicates that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms throughout our professional relationship.
